Wind down your weekend with an evening of live soul music, a selection of delicious spritz and showstopping lobster rolls at the recently opened twenty, an exciting new venue on Allerton Road, at the top of Penny Lane.

twenty is a carefully considered destination in the heart of South Liverpool, bringing together food and drink, retail and events within one thoughtfully designed space. The brainchild of Laura, owner of Laura’s Deli & Wine, who was inspired to create twenty following a trip to Florence in July 2025. twenty offers a layered, multi-sensory experience, from the smell of fresh coffee, a mouthwatering menu of staple and seasonal small plates and natural wine, to live music, workshops, wine tastings and a rotating mix of independent brands in its retail space.

Set in the former Lloyds TSB bank, which served the local community from 1904 until 2021, twenty has brought a well-loved local landmark back to life, creating a space to bring people together and to support other independent businesses and artists along the way. What was once a place of transaction is now a place of connection. Open from morning until night, we have created this space around the rhythms of your life. twenty is somewhere to meet, pause, gather, browse and return to. Rooted in a well-loved landmark building at the top of Penny Lane, we are guided by connection, shaped by community and designed for everyday moments done well.

Inspired by the New England seafood sandwich, twenty’s indulgent sharing platter (£38) features sweet lobster meat in a toasted, brioche roll, served with garlic butter and either crispy Old Bay fries – generously tossed in the iconic American 18-spice blend – or truffle and parmesan fries (£3 supplement), as well as a spritz of your choice each – Aperol, Hugo, Campari, Limoncello or Sarti.

Laid-back vibes easing you towards the new week will be provided by Liverpool legend and “King of Soul”, Gorgeous George Williams, a founding member of the city’s Soul and Motown favorites, Simply Soul, and a guest saxophonist.
